We rent a couple of different brands of backpacking chairs, but all are in the 1-2 pound range and stuff down pretty small for carrying.




The chair setup will consist of 1 or 2 pieces of fabric, and a shock-corded support structure



The poles will come together quickly and there is usually just one way it all fits together.  The fabric piece(s) have reinforced pockets for the poles.  This will be a tight fit on the last one inserted as you want tension on the fabric for support when seated.

        


This is the typical look of the chairs from the back once setup properly.  Sit down slowly to avoid "plopping down" too hard and keep in mind you'll be sitting lower than a normal chair.  Once in, sit back and relax and enjoy the envious looks from those who did not rent one for themselves!
