We have 2 main styles of lanterns we rent.  Both are compact and lightweight.  the square one as shown runs on 4 AA batteries and the other is rechargeable.

The on/off switch is on top.  Or when you close the lantern, the light goes off




The top of the the rechargeable lantern we rent shows the port for a micro-USB cable to charge it from an AC plug or computer - cable not provided.  The clear button is the on/off, and has multiple brightness settings.





The bottom of the rental light is also a magnet for affixing to anything metal.
