If you're going to do some camping where polar bears would be happy, or way up high, or if you're just a real cold-weather-weenie like most of us in Arizona or Down South, consider renting these sleeping bags.
These bags are from Big Agnes or other comparable brand, rated to -20F per the manufacturer's specs. That's twenty below zero for us in the US; about -29C for the metric folks. If you're headed out somewhere where these sleeping bags still aren't enough, all power to you. My coldest night was getting caught out at 0' in an open air shelter with a 15' bag, and that was bad enough for me.
These aren't light, so they're much better suited for car camping or packing around via porter or 4-legged packer. You could backpack - we don't recommend - with these bad boys, but you'd need a big pack to carry one around. Problem is, like all our rental bags, these packs have a synthetic fill, so it can only compress down so much. You're pretty much assured to stay warm in one of these, but no need to overkill it - we have other, lower-cost sleeping bag options if its just going to be down below freezing, say. If wanting to backpack, consider one of our 0' - 15' rated bags and add one of our bag liners to boost the warmth.
This sleeping bag we rent is big and wide (designed for use with the large mattress pads), and long enough even if you're over 6' tall. It weighs about 6.7 pounds and fits in a compression sack sized about 12" x 14" if you have one. We send it in a a regular stuff sack, which will be several inches taller. It's admittedly pricey compared to our other sleeping bags, but it's about twice their size and a bear to clean. And yes, we wash our sleeping bags after every use. Here's me in action.
Considering we're in Phoenix, home of the 122' afternoons, it's not like there's a lot of local demand for these -20' bags at any one time; we only stock a few. But since we cater to campers traveling the world, luck will have it that someone will want one at the same time as you do. So book it early if this bag is what you need.

Note - this item has a high volume-to-weight ratio - that is, it may be relatively light for its size, but it eats up a lot of box space. Shipments including this item often require a bigger box that is subject to a rate surcharge by UPS, so the effective shipping weight calculated at checkout is higher than the actual weight referenced above.
