One of the biggest barriers to owning a kayak can be dealing with transportation and storage - how are you going to get your kayak to the water? Not everyone has a truck or trailer of course, so car-topping is a popular choice, but some kayaks are too heavy for one person to safely raise and lower the boat. That's where the Thule Hullavator comes in - it makes loading and unloading much easier - the cradles come down to about waist-high, so the kayak does not have to be lifted very far off the ground. Strap it down while the boat is in the lower position, and then use the easy hydraulic handle to lift it the rest of the way up to the top of your vehicle.
Rated carrying capacity is 75 pounds, but FWIW we have customers using the Hullavator with heavier boats and do not experience any trouble.
