Here's something handy we rent that when used as a standalone cover isn't quite a sleeping bag, but is better than trying to go without anything around you. It can also be used as a liner to increase the insulation effectiveness of any sleeping bag we rent.
If you're going to be camping in warm, dry temperatures - say 55-60' or warmer at night - then this is the ultimate in featherweight sleeping gear. Made of a quick-dry synthetic material, this super-light cover may be all you need. Match up with some of the other lightweight rental gear, and you can be packing real light for your summer long-weekend trip.
Used as a liner, it will add 5-10' of insulation and warmth to any other bag in our rental gear inventory. For example, instead of one of our big coldest-weather bags, use this liner with a cool-weather bag as an option. Together the two will probably take up less room that the bigger cold-weather bag, and many campers find the texture and feel of this liner more comfortable than the sleeping bag's sewn-in liner material. To maximize the warmth capacity of this liner bag, always check into renting a mattress such as one of our various Thermarest options. The pad can have as much to do with your warmth at night as the sleeping bag.
The specs on this particular bag include a carrying weight of a little over one pound, and packs small when stuff-sacked. Its overall length is 75 inches; since it doesn't have hood, these are fine for taller campers. See all of our sleeping bags to find the gear best to rent for your trip.
